La investigación debe aportar resultados relevantes para pacientes y respuesta sanitaria, con representación de las poblaciones afectadas.

Ensayos y diagnóstico

Los estudios de terapias y vacunas deben distinguir seguridad, inmunogenicidad, eficacia y efectividad. El rendimiento diagnóstico necesita validación clínica específica. Las poblaciones, desenlaces y fechas son parte de cualquier conclusión.

Las observaciones de secuelas y de estigma justifican estudios longitudinales e intervenciones de apoyo. Las personas supervivientes y las comunidades deben participar en prioridades y evaluación de resultados.
